Cologne, 17.11.2021. Five digitization topics and one year to convince clinics, healthcare and nursing service providers of the added value. In March 2021, the partnership-based showcase of m.Doc GmbH at the University Medical Center Essen was selected by the renowned Entscheiderfabrik as one of the top 5 digitization topics in 2021. The experts presented their results as part of yesterday’s German Hospital Day.
Because even if two absolute specialists – the University Medical Center Essen as a smart hospital pioneer and m.Doc as a digital healthcare pioneer – meet, it is not yet said that the systems of both hospitals can communicate smoothly with each other. On the contrary – the integration of new features into existing system landscapes and thus inter-operability is often a major challenge. However, this does not have to be the case and this is exactly what UM Essen and m.Doc want to emphasize with their ISiK showcase and set groundbreaking standards for the healthcare sector here.
Specifically, the Smart Hospital Patient Portal (SHoPP) will provide patients at UM Essen with close-meshed care before, during and after the actual procedure. The SHoPP is based on the m.Doc Smart Health Platform.
The exchange between physicians, nursing, administration and patients takes place via questionnaires, specially prepared information and notes or documents. There is also the option of conducting video consultations directly via the app, even after the inpatient stay. The document exchange complies with the new ISiK specifications. In particular, the evaluation of questionnaires is essential for a research institution like Essen University Hospital and can significantly raise medical standards in the future.
