Scheduled for June 16 – 18, 2020, this year’s edition of DMEA will take place in a purely virtual format.
On June 16, selected keynotes and other formats will be broadcast via livestream, and these and other program items will also be available for download online.
In addition, many DMEA exhibitors will offer a digital program during the period June 16-18.
Messe Berlin and the German Federal Association for Health IT (bvitg) have decided to make this year’s DMEA – Connecting Digital Health in June exclusively digital. The reason for this is the current decision by German Chancellor Angela Merkel and the minister presidents of the federal states that large-scale events will remain prohibited until at least August 31. “We have continuously monitored the development of the coronavirus pandemic over the past weeks,” says Jens Heithecker of Messe Berlin. “In this respect, the ban on major events that has now taken place did not come as a complete surprise to us, and we have prepared ourselves accordingly.”
A virtual, open meeting place
“At the same time, the topic of digitalization in healthcare is currently more topical than ever. We see how important the availability of medical data is and that digital solutions such as video consultations can improve care, especially in times of crisis,” adds Sebastian Zilch, managing director of the bvitg. “Working together on innovative solutions is the key to success – this is also the core idea of DMEA. To keep the DMEA community up to date and enable exchange, we decided to go digital this year. By offering the program for free, we enable as many as possible to participate; whether live or time-shifted.”
The central day for the digital DMEA is June 16, 2020, when selected program items will be livestreamed. For example, the interactive format eHealth Hot Seat with gematik CEO Dr. Markus Leyck Dieken is planned. On the day itself as well as the following days, these and many other lectures, talks and panels with top-class experts will also be available online for viewing. In addition, many DMEA exhibitors will be offering talks, webinars and product presentations from June 16 to 18 to showcase their solutions.
The digital DMEA program will be available on the website from the beginning of June.
As a digital pioneer, we are well prepared and will have a digital presence. We look forward to the DMEA and to exchanging ideas with you.
